Since early 2016, Dr. Smita Borole and her team, in collaboration with St. Johns Episcopal cathedral and Volunteer Ministry Center have been providing free emergency dental care for the residents of YWCA &TN valley. Smiles For Hope was incorporated in October 2017 to grow this mission to provide rehabiliatative and reconstructive dental work to all women and children in East TN that are working towards a second chance in life but do not have access to dental care. Through their efforts Smiles For Hope and its volunteers have made it possible for several women to take first steps towards increased self confidence and a better life.

Smiles For Hope currently provides free dental care for all the residents of YWCA of Knoxville & TN Valley. Most of the residents are victims of domestic violence, drug abuse or have come from the penal system. Each resident is working towards a path of financial, emotional and physical independence while in transitional housing at the YWCA. Smiles For Hope lends a helping hand along the way by helping the residents smile again with confidence as they turn a new page in their lives.

Smiles For Hope is operated entirely through the efforts of volunteers who donate their time and expertise in various fields from dentistry, to administrative work to IT skills. We are able to make our patinets smile and feel confident again largely because of volunteers like YOU! To ensure efficient operations at each dental clinic we need Dentists, Dental Hygienist and Dental Assistants that are licensed to parctice in the State of TN.
